The short answers. Ask us anything else on the contact page.
What is LynxTrac Remote?
LynxTrac Remote is a lightweight, secure remote-access product for individuals and small teams. It lets you reach Windows, macOS, and Linux computers through native remote desktop, browser-based access, SSH, a terminal, and file transfer.
How is LynxTrac Remote different from LynxTrac RMM?
LynxTrac Remote focuses on remote access: connecting to devices, supporting people, and moving files. LynxTrac RMM is the full platform that adds monitoring, alerting, patch management, scripting, automation, and MSP features. If you need those, you can upgrade to LynxTrac RMM.
Which operating systems are supported?
You can connect to Windows, macOS, and Linux devices. You can start sessions from a modern web browser or a supported native client, including from a phone or tablet browser.
Can I access a computer through a web browser?
Yes. Browser-based remote access lets you open a device from any modern browser without installing a client on the machine you are connecting from.
Does the remote computer require an agent?
Yes. You install a lightweight LynxTrac agent on each computer you want to reach. The agent registers the device to your account so you can connect to it securely.
Can I connect without someone being present?
Yes. Unattended access lets you reach a device that nobody is sitting in front of, using the installed agent and your account permissions. You can also start attended sessions when a person is there to share their screen.
Is LynxTrac Remote suitable for commercial use?
Yes. Freelancers, consultants, small businesses, and small support teams use it to reach their own devices and to support clients. Team plans add shared device groups and role-based access.
How many devices can I manage?
It depends on your plan: Remote Individual includes up to 3 managed devices, Remote Professional up to 10, and Remote Team up to 25. Team plans can add more devices as an add-on.
What is a concurrent session?
A concurrent session is a remote connection that is actively running at the same time as another connection. Individual and Professional include 1 concurrent session; Team includes 2, with the option to add more.
Can I add more devices or users?
On the Team plan you can add devices, users, and concurrent sessions as add-ons. Additional devices are $1 per month, additional users $5 per month, and additional concurrent sessions $10 per month.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. You can start a free trial without a credit card, install the agent, and connect to a device to see how it works before choosing a paid plan.
Can I upgrade to LynxTrac RMM later?
Yes. LynxTrac Remote is built on the same platform as LynxTrac RMM, so you can move up to the full RMM platform when you need monitoring, patching, automation, or MSP features.
Is file transfer supported?
Yes. Every plan includes file transfer over an encrypted channel. Professional and Team add SFTP and advanced file transfer.
Is SSH supported?
Yes. Web SSH and a browser terminal are included on the Professional and Team plans, so you can administer Linux servers without a local terminal.
Can I cancel at any time?
Yes. You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account. Cancellation stops future renewals; see the Refund and Cancellation Policy for how the current period is handled.
Where is customer data hosted?
LynxTrac Remote runs on the LynxTrac platform infrastructure. If you need the specific hosting region for a compliance review, contact us and we will confirm what applies to your account.
What security controls are available?
Sessions use encrypted connections, and access to a device requires an authorized account. Depending on your plan you can use two-factor authentication, role-based access, session audit logs, session recording where supported, and access revocation. See the Security page for details.
